Hey all 🙂
Like many, I’m looking forward to Euro 2020! I’m going to be playing the Fanteam Euro 2020 tournament, and I’ve managed to get hold of a little bonus for site readers who want to play too!
On this site, readers and I have spent 3-4 years looking at the best of European football each and every gameweek.
The upcoming tournament might be a great opportunity to showcase our wide knowledge. Most people will know the big names from the favourites like Germany, France, Belgium Spain and dare I say it England.
But how many people out there can deploy knowledge of obscure Turkish, Ukrainian or Russian players!? Not that many, I suspect. And that will likely be the difference maker, particularly in the early rounds.
Most likely, these players will be priced kindly and finding value is a big factor in Fanteam, you can’t just pick all the favourites.
I reviewed the product as a whole here and I liked what I saw, particularly for those who are seeking a straight forward and fun experience without having to endlessly stress about the business model behind it.
It’s really easy to play for most because if you’ve played the official Fantasy Premier League then you pretty much know all the rules already.
It’s low cost to play compared to many games, with entries at £20 for the whole tournament, which I think is pretty good for a month of entertainment and a fair shot at winning some money.
There is a guaranteed £1,000,000 prize pool in fact! With the overall winner taking £200k and the rest distributed further down the ranks.
Quite far down in fact, so there is a decent chance of bringing something home if you can get into perhaps the top 15-20% (to be confirmed depending on how many enter).
I think that prize pool is worth playing for in itself. But I have managed to pester Fanteam to give us a bit extra, in a way that can add a bit of fun and possibly result in my abject humiliation!
Exclusively for readers I have 25 free tickets to give away for Fanteam’s season long Fantasy game for 21/22. These should be worth about £25 each and would put you in contention for what is expected to be a £2.5 million prize pool next season!
I’ll be doing some just for fun articles throughout Euro 2020 showing the progress of my team (or lack thereof) and the decisions I’m making. I might even set up a Discord chat (or maybe a channel in the Fanteam’s main Discord?) so we can have some fun as we go.
The highest scoring 25 readers who score more than me in the Euro 2020 game will each get one of these tickets! And in the unlikely event that there are not 25 readers ahead of me I will give the tickets away in a random prize draw amongst anyone who entered.
1. If you do not have a Fanteam account then just sign up using this button, which will let Fanteam know you joined through me and then they will give me a small commission, which helps me out at no cost to you. Don’t worry, if you already have a Fanteam account, you can still play!
2. Once you have an account tap your email address and Fanteam account name into here including the # number (i.e Adam_FT#12345).
Â
3. On the Fanteam site, enter a team into the Fanteam Euro 2020 tournament before kick-off on June 11. That costs £20, so please bet responsibly! This is supposed to be for fun.Â
4. That’s it! I’ll keep you updated as we go via some fun articles and possibly a chat group if there is enough interest. And be sure to let me know if you are ahead of me in the table! 🙂
